Sit still, don’t move and SHUT UP!
OK I wanted to share my first spring turkey hunting adventure with you. I was told by some buddies that turkeys have good eye sight and hearing, I thought to my self yeah right the turkeys I had when I was younger were dumber than a box of rocks and did not know their a** from a hole in the ground.
It was a cool spring morning and the sun was starting to come up as I was walking to the field I was going to hunt in. I decided I would sit next to a tree on the edge of the field. After about 20 minutes of calling I heard this turkey gobble about 100 yards or so BEHIND me. OK now this bites the turkey will walk behind me and I will never get a shot so I decided I would turn around. The next thing I heard was the flapping of wings as this huge tom takes off.
The lesson learned here. Sit still, don’t move and SHUT UP!
