What a pioneer, what a man, and what a terrible loss for the world of music :(

Thankyou very much for this. The first time I ever heard Michael Hedges was on a high mountain to watch the comet Hyakutake. Everyone of the hundred or so people were very quiet. Except for this music someone was playing, aerial boundries cd.Years later I tracked down the artist by finding everyone who had ever recorded "after the gold rush". So that's how I learned of Michael's music, by the comet Hyakutake.

yeah, except this is the thing. It's not just the gear, it's the ear. Even though the FRAP pickup "guarantees" a flat response, you get the various frequency humps and dips that are particular to your guitar... so mike ran the FRAP and ALSO the sunrise through a param EQ and tweaked it until those things disappeared. The tone I use is a modification to his... I like a little bigger low end and a little more bell, whereas he is very organic and middy

Yeah man... a lot of people neglect to mention the contribution he made to amplifying acoustic guitars. He set a standard that many use today. If his web page is still up, he gives the specs on what he used.

Damn man, listen to that tone! Earthtone, that's what it is. Unbeatable... I'd LOVE to have that tone someday, the expressive possibilities are endless.

First time I've listened to this guy.I've always been a Phil Keaggy head.I didn't even know this guy died.If Phil died I would be extremely sad.If you haven't listened to Phil Keaggy then you will be heartened to find the music is very similar.Keaggy is a master at the acoustic. He's getting older but still puts to shame most guitarist.Yet He is humble like Hedges was.
